Spont training

What are we going to do?

This help document works as a training for the iPad. Everything is explained briefly and a few common situations are briefly discussed.
For new customers we give this training for the iPad, this is part of the onboarding process.
In this help document you can read everything again.

Interface of the iPad explained

General layout

  1. On the left are the categories, you can create these categories yourself and link products.

  2. In the middle of the screen are the products, which can give you a color. By clicking on a category you will see all products that appear in this category. At the top is also a search function to search for a specific product.

  3. On the right you see an empty black area, this is the bon structure. With 3 buttons above; table, customer and â€.....

  4. The empty black area, the bon structure, shows two things;

    1. The products to be ordered, this is shown in white text.

    2. The products already ordered, this is shown in grey text. And can be unfolded

Options in a table

  • Via this table button above you can choose a table or see which table you are in.

  • Via this customer button above you can choose a customer or see which customer account you are in

  • To the right of this you have the three dots, this is an option button for the table. Let me explain all the options:

  1. "Delete" with the remove option you can remove a table in whole. This requires a management code. The products that were hit on the table are credited, and it is possible to send a notification of this to the kitchen.

  2. If you want to give a discount on an entire account of a table, you can do this via here. You can add a percentage or an amount in euros.

  3. If you want to add a note to an entire order, you can do so via here. It is also possible to add this note to the customer's voucher.

  4. "New bon†This will make a new voucher on the same table. When you then open the table again, the system first asks which voucher you want to make changes.

  5. See which vouchers are on this table.

  6. “Splitting on combiningâ€

  7. "Inform kitchen" Send a message to the printer in the kitchen via here.

  • Add tip: Press "+ Tipping" to add tip. This can be done in euros or in percentage.

Order flow

We have two order flows at Spont:

Lightning order:

A lightning order can be done via the blue navigation button and then to orders.

Now you can catch things without having a table connected.

You can also checkout immediately without having to connect a table.

Include your products via the lightning order but if you want to add this to a table then press 'order', now you are asked to which table you want to add it.

Ordering through tables:

Go to the Tables app via the light blue button.

Choose the table to which you want to add products.

Choose the products.

Add it to the voucher by pressing "order".

Blue navigation button

The blue navigation button is an important button in the app, because we use it to navigate through the app to various functions.

Navigate from lightning order to; customers, table map and settings of the app.

Setting up the iPad

There are a number of settings in the app that you can change as your preference.

  • Set automatically shutdown: Set a time when this happens automatically.

  • Start category: Set a category where the iPad should start by default (Tip! Make a category of runners with the favorites).

  • Set a preferred payment method to have it right away instead of having to click for payment.

  • Hidden slots: set whether certain neighborhood should not be displayed through this iPad.

  • Starting location: set in which neighborhood the iPad should start by default


A few situations explained:

Add note/attributes to product

In spontaneously we use attributes, these are options that can be linked to products. Example: oat milk/soyam milk in cappuccino and latte.

A note is displayed on the production voucher below the product.


To do this, hold down the product before you want to order it.

Then a menu emerges.

Press product details to customize the following things:

  • Number of

  • Discount at product level

  • Add attributes

  • Change corridor

If you hold down the product, you will also receive a shortcut in the menu to:

  • Order with note

  • Customized price

  • Multiple orders

Moving the table in whole

Go to the table you want to move.

At the top of the right you see a blue button with the table number.

Click on this button, here you will find the option 'move order'.

Choose the table where you want to move the voucher to.

Dividing the account

Do you want to turn one account into two separate accounts by moving products.

Then go to a table where you want to split the account.

Then press the 3 dots at the top right of the table.

Now click on the products you want to move to the new voucher and press Save.

Two vouchers are now open on the table.

Press View vouchers to switch vouchers.

Moving some of the products

If you want to move some of the products, you will first have to split the account as was done in the previous situation.

Then you will have to move that voucher that has split by clicking on the blue button with the table number again.

Then press move and select the table to which the products need to be moved.

Reopening the account

Go to settings via the blue navigation button and then to orders.

Press the order (account) you want to reopen here.

Scroll down and press reopen order.

The table has now been brought back and is open again.

Crediting items

Do you want to remove an already hit product?

Then go to the table and press "show history".

Hold down the product and press credit.

The product is now in the minus.

Then press order.

*If this was the only product on the table, you have to remove the table afterwards. You will find that button under the top right.


Day of Closure

Go to settings via the blue navigation button and then to day closing.

The present day is always open. Click on "open" to end the day.

You can do this with or without the print of the daily overview.

It is always reflected in the backend of Spont!
