Pairing your kitchen screen (KDS)

Pairing your kitchen screen (KDS)

What are we going to do?

In this article, we will show you how to easily get started yourself with your Spont KDS screen or your kitchen screen.

Pair your Spont KDS screen

When you order a KDS screen from Spont without installation, it will come in by mail. On this screen is already the KDS app that ensures that the screen can work as a kitchen screen.
  1. Connect the screen to Power.
  2. Launch the screen.
  3. Swipe up to go to all apps.
  4. Find the app "Spont KDS".
  5. Launch the app and login with your company by scanning the qr code.
Your KDS screen is now linked to your company. Take your computer through theSpont backendSet the screen correctly. First of all, make sure that the KDS screen is properly linked to your company. Do this by going to settings via the black bar and then to hardware. Here you should now see the KDS screen.

Set the screen via the backend

If you found the KDS screen with hardware, press it to go to the screen settings.
Then you will see this:

We will explain what the settings do based on the numbers in the photo below. In principle, the institutions without a number speak for themselves.

  1. "Send closed orders to"- Here you can connect an issue printer.
  2. "Chef screen"Specify what kind of screen this is. OneNormal screen:is for a cook who can pass on to the chef through this screen that he / she has finished his dishes. For example, this would be a screen on the hot or cold side. OneChief screenis intended for the (sous) chef who has an overview of all orders here. So here the orders from the cold and warm side come together to the entire order. The normal screens must then be linked to the chef screen. Changes can also be made on the chef screen. OnePassover screenIt is the screen that is on the side of the operation. It says what needs to be taken where. The voucher will be visible at the Pass screen, when you link it to the Chef. If you do not do this, the chef screen will function as a pass screen.
  3. "Monitor screen"For the cold and warm side this is the chef screen. Here, as it were, the order is copied. So that the entire order can be shown on the monitor screen. For the chef screen it is the only screen, if it is there.
  4. "Show scheduled vouchers"This feature is for online orders
  5. "Show spy screen"By turning this on you can switch between other screens with this screen so that you can see what is displayed on it *
  6. "All vouchers open by default"Turn this on if you want all corridors to be opened by default on the screen when ordering.
  7. "Number of columns"Here you set how many columns, or how many orders are visible on the screen at the same time.
  8. "Preparation time"Set the number of minutes in which the dishes must be made. Next, two things happen: (1) The screen makes an overview / listing on the left of the picture with all the dishes that have to be made within this time. (2) When an order lasts 5 minutes longer than this time, it turns red.
  9. "Group of vouchers at"You have two choices: (1) per order round, this means that each course is in a new column. (2) group per order, this means that the entire order is in one column and therefore the courses among themselves. *
*This feature is not yet available. If you want to use this, please let us know.

Connect the screen to the right categories and products

You can link products to your KDS screen in two ways. You can link them by category and per single product. Link an entire category when the entire category needs to be sent to the same screen. For example, do you have a category of citizens, all of which need to be linked to the warm side. Then you can link the entire category to the KDS screen at the warm side. For example, do you have a category of main courses where some main courses are made on the cold side and some at the warm side. Then you have to indicate this separately per product, below we will show you how to do this.

By category:
  1. Navigate to products via the black bar.
  2. Go to categories.
  3. Press the category you want to link as a whole.
  4. Press Add printer.
  5. Here is the right KDS screen that you have named.
Per single product:
  1. Navigate to products via the black bar.
  2. Look up the product you want to pair with a KSD screen.
  3. Press Add printer.
  4. Here is the right KDS screen that you have named.

If you have gone through all the steps, your kitchen screen should now be working, so you can benefit from the efficiency of Spont within your kitchen.
